about

Following in the footsteps of world renowned post-metal/post-rock acts such as Isis, Jakob and Cult of Luna, Mammoth’s debut EP presents five tracks, all epic in scope and clocking in at just over 34 minutes. This debut release is a pledge to the band’s ability to fluently shift from atmospheric haunting passages into crushing rhythmic sections, while sparse yet soaring vocals deliver insights into our pale existence.

Mammoth first formed in late 2006 with the current line-up coming together in October 2008. The EP is a culmination of two years hard work and dedication. Further writing is already underway with the goal of releasing a full length album in 2010. Future material will build on the ideas present in the EP and evolve the sound of Mammoth further in all aspects.

Track Name: Inundation
Here we start
We start to remember
All those thoughts
And the truth of our existence

Lay down, relax and lay down

Throw me under water
Thrash me under water

Inundate, these particles flow through
Saturate, the aftermath's still fighting and thriving for the life,
And need to be something

Reach out, hold me
Reach out, hold me
Track Name: Black Tide
Searching all over we find we're sparsely spread
Come together now, seeking the end

Anticipate the end
Could you contemplate being born again
Track Name: Cairns
Commonsensical transcend
Viral equity to the population
Violence leads to desensitivity
Your commonsense subject to evaporation

Manipulate these thoughts in my head
Manipulate, seal the fate of a nation
Track Name: Two Weeks
Two weeks is all it takes
Erode away, what should have stayed centuries

Two weeks is all it takes
Erode away, what should have stayed centuries

Two weeks is all it takes to erode away
Two days is all it takes till it's gone

Two weeks is all it takes to erode away
Two days is all it takes till it's gone
Two hours is all it takes to sift away
Two seconds never felt so long
